ONCE

Privacy

Draft, October 2026.

Once is run by [company name] ("we"). You can reach us at [contact address].

What we keep

You play without signing up and without telling us anything about yourself. When you first open Once, your browser is given a random key, kept in its own storage on your device, and we keep:

Our servers also see your internet address while you play. We use it to keep the game running and to stop abuse (for example, too many new players from one place), and keep it in our logs for no more than 30 days.

What we don't do

No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics from anyone else, and nothing sold or shared. Other players see only your made-up name and your scores, on the day's boards and in your groups.

Children

Once doesn't ask anyone for their name, email or anything else personal, so it's safe for children to play.

How long

We keep your player record and scores while you play. A player who hasn't played for a year is deleted, with their scores. Clearing your browser's storage for this site leaves your old player behind (and it's deleted in time); you start again as someone new.

Where

Once runs on Google Cloud. Your data may be processed outside your own country, under the protections the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we keep about your player, or for it to be deleted, by writing to [contact address] with your player's name. Wherever you live, you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
